Former Mosher Steel (Ingall's Iron Works)

2008 EPA Brownfield Assessment & Remediation Cleanup Grant Award

The City of Birmingham and Jefferson County partnered to acquire this 28-acre vacant property, which formerly operated as a steel fabricating facility in Titusville from approximately 1920 until the mid 1990s. Throughout this project Bullock Environmental, LLC and its partners have worked with Jefferson County, Jefferson County Economic & Industrial Development Authority, the City of Birmingham, legal counsel for the City of Birmingham and Jefferson County, neighborhood associations in the city of Titusville, and ADEM representatives to facilitate successful redevelopment of this property. Additionally, this property was featured at the 2006 National Brownfields Conference in Boston, Massachusetts (highlighting successful urban renewal projects across the US) and received the Economic Development Association of Alabama Community Development Award for Redevelopment in 2006 honoring communities that work together to create successful economic development initiatives. ADEM approved the Voluntary Cleanup Plan in 2007, which will be implemented in conjunction with the EPA-awarded grant.
